2020 wasn't what we expected, but you did some amazing things!
2020 is a year that few of us would willingly relive. But as we reflect, we find that God stretched and challenged us in ways we weren’t expecting. Even as we lamented our inability to send teams to work alongside our brothers and sisters abroad, we saw so many of you step up to give generously, ensuring that ministry continued in the Philippines, Costa Rica, Malawi, Mexico, and the U.S.
It is easy to think about 2020 as a “down” year without missions trips, but in reality we now see just how effective Reaching the Hungry has been. Even when teams are stranded here at home, kingdom work continues. You reached over 1,000 families in the Philippines with the Wick family, kept outreach and discipleship moving in Malawi, sent love and gifts to children at an orphanage in Mexico, and rallied around the Aristas in Costa Rica amid scarcity. You provided hand sanitizer & medical gloves to 20 local churches and distributed 1000's of pounds of clothing to partner organizations here in So Calif. You put in some serious work and have a lot to show for it – THANK YOU!
We also stayed busy here at home, debuting a new website and tools to help us connect with you better in the future, and holding 5 training sessions in November to prepare teams for upcoming trips. Your generosity inspired us to sacrificially give over $80,000 to our international partners, trusting God will replenish our 2021 budget. Last year brought a bit of transition for us, but we love where we are headed.
