This sweet boy, Jay Sean, came in such a hurry. His mother is from Papua New Guinea and has been studying here in the Philippines when she met Jay Sean's dad. They are both young and were both scared. I have been helping her throughout her pregnancy. We are are both foreigners speaking very little Visaya and I was really praying that everything went smooth so we wouldn't have to transport her to the hospital. She came in one night at 2cm and went home around 6pm to rest and text me about every 10 minutes until around 11pm. Around 12:15am I was woken up to the sound of honking outside our house. As I sat up half asleep and very disorientated I got a call from a midwife at the clinic "quick your patient is here and she's fully!" In midwife lingo this means you better hustle if you want to catch this baby! My two lovely roommates helped dress me in my scrubs in the living room and I flew out the door to the ambulance waiting for me. When I arrived I barely got to the birth room as I began to see a little head emerging. "Crowning!" Someone called out. I quickly put my gloves on and sat on the bed in time for the rest of head and body to follow. What a way to be woken up! Goodmorning and welcome to the world little dude!
