ARRIVING IN MALAWI

JESUS FILM OUTREACHES
Hundreds come to Christ at our Jesus Film Outreaches. After people accept Christ, we invite them to join our weekly Bible Study Groups. We now have over 12,000 people in Reaching the Hungry Bible Study Groups in villages all over Malawi.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING CLASSES
Pastor Tamara Landes taught an all-day class on Children's Leadership. It was a fantastic day with over 50+ leaders in attendance. They loved her teaching... new vision and excitement moving forward.
Pastor Carlos Sales taught an all-day class on Shepherd Leadership to some of our Bible Study Leaders. They loved learning what it means to be a shepherd, not just a leader, and how to know & care for their sheep. We are training all our Leaders how to use Talking Bibles, "Disciple Journey with Jesus" material (that we’ve translated into Chichewa), and now Shepherd Leadership.
INSTALLING WATER WELLS
We installed two water wells! in the villages we showed the Jesus Films. Joy filled singing & dancing always erupt when the clean water streams from their own village well.
Clean water means kids can stop walking miles to fetch water and stay in school. Clean water means their babies will live! (50% of the children under the age of 5 years perish due to waterborne diseases).
LOVE THOSE CHILDREN
We had the opportunity to do crafts, play games, and color with the women & children. Our female team members met with the women of the village to teach them about women’s things as well as to give them little bags of reusable sanitary items and little baby knitted hats that were donated to RtH-USA.
SUNDAY CHURCH SERVICE
I wanted to surprise my good friend Pastor Hamilton on Sunday by taking the team to his church, but I was the one that was surprised when he spotted me in the crowd (approximately 3,000 people) and sent one of his staff to invite us to sit on the platform. He introduced us to the congregation and asked me to share a little. Wasn’t expecting to share in front of 3,000 people that morning. Typically, he asks me to preach… glad that didn’t happen.
It was a beautiful service with wonderful music & singing. After the service, Pastor Hamilton had us over for lunch. He was the Chairman of my RtH-Malawi Board for the first 4-years.
READING GLASSES CLINIC
RtH-USA on a typical year, fits 1,000 people with reading glasses. It’s a great, tangible way for us to share our love. People are always so blessed to be able to see clearly again, so they can read their Bibles or do their work without eye strain. We hosted a Reading Glasses Clinic and fitted 110 people with new glasses.
