The enemy has been attacking like crazy lately. The Lord has amazingly kept us all safe and brought us all even closer during some difficult times lately. Last week there was a shooting in front of our other midwives house (we have a couple houses of American missionary girls) about a 15 min walking distance from my house.The girls in the house assisted the victim. This has been shocking, angering, saddening, confusing, and scary for all of the girls here and especially the ones directly involved. We have been reminded that God hasn't called us to a life of being comfortable nor has He guaranteed our safety. We have been learning even more lately how precious and short life is. It is also a huge reminder of cultural differences that as a foreigner we will never understand the depth of pain and what is "normal" or what people here deal with their whole lives.

Please please pray for everyone here for continued safety not only of our physical but in our thoughts and emotions as well.

FOR HAPPIER NEWS: My God is so generous and knows my soul well and I am blessed to say I will get to take a much needed short break home. I am so looking forward to the time of refreshment and encouragement my family brings me. Wish I could sit and visit with you all but unfortunately I will only be able to be home for less then 2 weeks and will need all the time with my family I can get. Please be praying for all the homework and things I need to finish before I can leave, for refreshment, for my fibromyalgia as I travel, and for rich relationship time with my family.
